The FTP results consist of a 1GB get, followed by a 1GB put. The times reported are the sums of the two actions. The local file-system was unmounted and remounted between actions to flush and invalidate the kernel buffers. The remote destination file was a different name from the remote source file. All files were created, and not preallocated.
NOTE: An issue was found with the test that skewed the results slightly. In the script, the get from Server2 followed the get from Server1. During the results analysis, it was found that the buffers were not flushed properly between these two steps. The times generated for Server2 are therefore a bit on the high side. They are, however, in proportion.
